Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has expanded list of cars subject to increased taxation

The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has updated the list of cars which will be subject to the «luxury tax» from 2021.

The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has expanded the list of vehicles subject to the so-called "luxury tax" by 87 models, the document was published on the official website of the Ministry.

It is known that owners of passenger cars worth more than three million rubles are required to pay the so-called "luxury tax". In 2021, the number of such cars reached 1,387 units.

Among the "newcomers" - Honda CR-V, Skoda Kodiaq, Kia Sorento and Hyundai Palisade, although initially under the "luxury tax" were exclusive vehicles, brands such as: Ferrari, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi.

To calculate the increased tax, car owners will need to multiply the standard vehicle tax by a special coefficient depending on the year of manufacture of the car.
