The French-Japanese alliance Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi plans to invest in the development of electric car technology. Tesla will not introduce new models this year.
According to the alliance, Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi have already invested 10 billion euros in the development of electrification of their cars. In the European, Japanese, American and Chinese markets, 15 production sites of the alliance already produce components for 10 models of electric cars. The manufacturers have combined their experience and decided to invest 23 billion euros in electrification of cars.
The alliance plans to produce 35 new electric cars by 2030, almost all of which will be built at one of five common bases.
