Fans of Lada cars will face a possible price hike in May, AvtoVAZ has warned. The head of the company, Maxim Sokolov, told TASS that prices may be adjusted due to rising production costs and increased sanctions risks, but the increase will be below the inflation rate.

Last year, the company already raised prices for all Lada models from May 1, and then they increased by 2-3 percent on average. For example, the price of Lada Granta increased by 14 thousand rubles in the initial configuration and by 19-29 thousand rubles in more expensive ones. The Club special version went up by 39 thousand rubles.

The final figures of the price increase for May 2024 have not yet been determined, but we can expect a similar level as last year, taking into account inflation of 4-4.5 percent.

AvtoVAZ is currently analyzing the market, demand and production efficiency. Together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, possible support measures are being considered to minimize price adjustments. Current prices are fixed until May 2024, and the company continues to work on optimizing its pricing policy.

The cost of the most affordable Lada Granta is now from 699,900 rubles, but after a possible rise in price it may exceed the mark of 700 thousand. The price for Vesta starts from 1,239,900 rubles, for Niva Travel - from 1,198,900 rubles, and for Niva Legend - from 829,900 rubles.

Earlier transport companies of the Russian Federation complained about the shortage of drivers of heavy trucks, and also on the popular marketplace can launch the sale of domestic cars.
