The Chinese Volkswagen Bora sedan has been spotted starting to be sold in Russia. Ads have been spotted on the website of the Avilon dealership in Moscow.
In fact, the Chinese version is assembled on the MQB platform and is about the same size as the new Volkswagen Lavida Plus. The price for it will start at 2 million 490 thousand rubles and end at 2 million 590 thousand rubles. The Russian consumer will get a pre-styled version of the model.
Recall that the Volkswagen Bora is assembled in China by the joint German-Chinese joint venture FAW-Volkswagen. Its dimensions are 4663/1815/1473 mm in length, width and height, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2688 mm.
The car has Volkswagen's old 1.6-liter engine, but it is promised to be 6 hp stronger, with 116 hp on board. At the same time, the 1.4-liter turbocharged engine will retain its previous output of 150 hp.
This turbo engine is not TSI and has been used by Volkswagen in China for 10 years.
There are no big changes in the transmission either: a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DCT will be available.
