The FAW-Toyota joint venture has announced the start of serial production of the new Land Cruiser Prado 250 in about five months. This case is unique, as Toyota is producing the SUV for the first time not in Japan.
As in the Japanese version, the global version of the new Prado has two variants of the front end design. In the basic configuration there are round headlights “under retro”, in more expensive variants they are rectangular, as well as a chrome grille.
The Chinese-made Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 250 is equipped with a non-alternative iForce Max hybrid setup with a 2.4-liter engine, an automatic transmission with an integrated electric motor and a compact battery. The engine output is 330 horsepower with 630 Nm of torque. The vehicle is also equipped with all-wheel drive with locking middle and rear differentials.
The cost of the SUV varies from 460 to 550 thousand yuan (5.54-6.62 million rubles). It is also sold in Russia despite the sanctions. At dealers it can be purchased at a price from 9.3 to 14.25 million rubles.
Earlier it became known that the State Duma will consider the issue of buying a Russian car for the funds of the matkapital. The newest crossovers from Nissan have appeared on sale in Russia.
