The Russian State Duma is preparing amendments that could increase the validity of a driver's license from 10 to 20 years. This initiative, although assessed as positive for drivers, will not lead to radical changes in the system of license issuance, vice-president of the National Automobile Union Jan Heitseer told the Z60 TV channel.
According to the expert, the proposal to extend the validity period of the license may bring economic benefits by reducing the cost of issuing and replacing the license. However, from the point of view of drivers, who can now easily obtain a new license, this change will not greatly affect their daily lives.
It is important to note that if driver's licenses are increased, they should remain durable and not lose their quality. The medical examination required to obtain a license will also remain mandatory and will be periodically conducted, taking into account the changing age of the driver.
It should be recalled that earlier Chinese cars in Russian carsharing began to occupy from 20 to 50%.
