Auto dealers report shortages in Russia

Oleg Moseev, president of the Russian Automobile Dealers Association, reported a shortage of cars in the salons. The shortage affected all manufacturers.

"The car shortage is experienced due to the suspension of vehicle production worldwide due to the coronavirus pandemic. This could not be avoided by AvtoVAZ, which produces the LADA brand," said Oleg Moseev.

According to the head of “Russian Automobile Dealers” Association, the shortage will last until the fall of 2020, it will affect some brands until winter. According to Andrei Kamensky, director of marketing at Avilon, the shortage in car dealerships affected the crossovers Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Jaguar Land Rover, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Volkswagen and Hyundai. In the last two cases, the shortage also occurred due to vacation at factories in St. Petersburg and Kaluga.

Andrei Kamensky is confirmed that the shortage will affect other vehicles, such as Volvo. The Association of European Business previously reported that in Russia the level of sales in July 2020 increased by 6.8% to 142 thousand units.
