After the shutdown, the Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg will be mothballed, and now the remaining cars are being removed, including those that were not fully assembled and were not accepted by the acceptance department.

According to the Russian Car Telegram Channel, the plant has not yet officially announced any layoffs, but it will happen at the end of October.

Recall that the plant stopped its work back in March 2022 because of the lack of components.

Also stopped was the reconstruction of the former plant of General Motors near St. Petersburg, acquired by the Korean manufacturer in November 2020.

As a reminder, Nissan recently handed over its entire assembly plant in St. Petersburg to the Russian government, and now Chinese concerns may start working at its facilities.
