Experts of the analytical agency «Autostat» conducted a study in preparation for the forum «Used Cars Forum - 2022». They analyzed the data of JSC «Electronic Passport» and found out that in May the used car market in Russia fell by 30% compared to the same period in 2021.
Compared to April, this indicator has decreased by 7%. Most often at the secondary market citizens of the Russian Federation bought LADA models - 90.8 thousand, the company's share in the segment amounted to 27.8%. Toyota (32.4 thousand), Hyundai (17.5 thousand) and KIA (16.1 thousand) remain at the top of used foreign cars' market. However, sales of the most popular brands declined by 16-40% in May.
In May Russian motorists bought 8.9 thousand copies of LADA-2114 "Samara-2", 8.3 thousand " Semerka " and 7.7 thousand of " Priora ". Among foreign cars Hyundai Solaris was the most popular - 6800 copies. Also at the top were Ford Focus, KIA Rio, three-door LADA Niva, LADA-2110, Granta and Toyota Corolla.
Since the beginning of 2022 in Russia 1,8 million used cars were bought, it is 20% less than the same period of the last year.
