A court in Turin has ruled in favour of former Formula 1 driver Jacqui Ickx and banned Italian company DR Automobiles SRL from using the Ickx brand for its cars.
The legal proceedings began after Ickx contacted the Belgian law firm Bacciardi Partners over the sale of cars under the brand that were not related to it.
DR Automobiles, which sells Chinese-made cars under the Ickx K2 brand, was forced to recall all instances of the model from the Italian market. The court decision also obliges the company to remove all cars from its dealerships by March 23.
The company faces a fine of 50 thousand euros for each car sold after the deadline set by the court, as well as reimbursement of legal costs and publication of an announcement on its website about copyright infringement.
Earlier, the British supercar received the most powerful version, and also AvtoVAZ significantly improved the Niva.
