Avtovaz is not going to completely halt production due to a shortage of electronic components

As "AUTOSTAT" previously reported, car production has stopped on three lines at the plant in Togliatti. Workers involved in production of the vehicles will have to take a halt from 12 November and receive 2/3 of their wages compensation.

LADA Granta was assembled on 9 November; LADA Largus and XRAY, Renault Logan and Sandero were assembled from 8 to 11 November; LADA Niva has not been assembled at all this week. LADA Izhevsk plant continues to work in normal mode.

The press service of AvtoVAZ later reported that the information about the downtime was unreliable. “Due to the global crisis in the supply of electronic components, it is necessary to periodically suspend the activities of car assembly lines. Nevertheless, the production of engines, gearboxes, chassis, press production, metallurgy and other areas of activity continue to function as before, ”the press service of the company said.

The assembly lines of AvtoVAZ have been operating intermittently since July 2021 due to problems with the supply of components from the Robert Bosch Samara plant, which is also experiencing problems with suppliers. After the situation is normalized, AvtoVAZ is going to normalize its activities by introducing a 9-hour working day, as well as work on Saturdays.
