Porsche's test electric car overtook all the participants of the race in the UK without waiting for the official announcement. Porsche Cayenne EV has already announced itself.
The prototype, disguised as an ordinary car, raced at the famous course at Shelsley Walsh as part of the hill climb championship. It emerged victorious in its class. Moreover, the electric car set a new track record among crossovers with a time of 31.28 seconds.
At the wheel was Gabriela Zilkova, a driver in the Formula-E racing series. The result was four seconds better than the previous one. This is the first high-profile victory of the future Porsche electric car, achieved before its official presentation.
The body was decorated with Cayenne logos in the trademark “electric” neon colors, which only confirmed its belonging to the future lineup. The run was part of a closed test program.
The serial version of the Cayenne EV will appear in the coming months, and the gasoline version will continue to be sold in parallel with the new electric sports crossover.
