Russians have become more than half as likely to buy new cars, says a study conducted by the Association of European Businesses.
According to the organization, sales of new cars in Russia in August 2022 fell by 62.45% compared to the same period in 2021. A total of 41698 vehicles were sold in the country during the last month of summer.
At the same time, analysts note that compared to the first two months of summer 2022, car sales have nevertheless picked up.
At the same time the total decline for eight months of this year was 60,7% or 410548 new cars.
Avtovaz remains the leader in sales. In August the products of domestic plant were bought 1,8087 times. Kia is in second place with 4004 cars. In third place is Haval with 2990 sold cars.
In addition to them, the top ten also includes GAZ Group, Hyundai, UAZ, Geely, Renault, Skoda and Volkswagen.
As for the models, the best selling one according to August results was Lada Granta with 11,580 units, followed by Niva (2,327 units) and Vesta (2,221 cars).
For commercial purposes, Gazelles were most often purchased - 2,259 cars.
