In Russia they still prefer to steal «time-tested Koreans».
According to VSK Insurance House, Hyundai became the most stolen car brand in Russia during the first nine months of this year. This brand accounted for 31% of the total number of thefts in the country. In second place was Kia with a share of 24%, and in third place - Mitsubishi with 7%, writes "PRIME".
The study also revealed that the most frequently stolen car model was Kia K5, which appeared in 14% of the cases of thefts. Also among the most stolen models in Russia are crossovers Hyundai Palisade and Hyundai Santa Fe. Among the cars of premium segment in this "anti-rating" are sedan Genesis G80 and crossover Mercedes-Benz GLE-class. Chery Tiggo accounts for the largest number of thefts among Chinese cars.
By region, Moscow was the leader in the number of car thefts with 45% of car thefts. Moscow Region (10%) and Samara Region (10%) were also on the list of regions with high car theft rates. In Moscow, the majority of car thefts occurred in the North-West District, while in the Moscow Region, the most risky areas for car owners were Dubna, Noginsk and Lyubertsy.
The study also emphasizes that corporate car fleets were the most vulnerable to theft, accounting for 52% of thefts. Among individual car owners, women became victims of theft in 28% of cases.
According to the survey data, the highest number of car thefts occurred in May (28%), as well as in February and April (17% each). In June, the number of car thefts amounted to 10%, and in other months of the year did not exceed 7%.
