The new Maserati GranCabrio has finally been unveiled, turning the classic GranTurismo into a convertible. This Grand Tourer, designed for four people, is initially available in a Trofeo version with a Nettuno V6 engine, but an all-electric Folgore version will soon join the lineup.
Maserati's GranCabrio promises to be more attractive in appearance compared to the closed version of the GranTurismo, thanks to its convertible configuration. The highlight is the fabric roof, which can be electronically retracted in 14 seconds even at speeds up to 50 km/h. The dark blue shade shown on the example is combined with a bright red interior trim. In the Trofeo configuration, the car is equipped with carbon fiber trim and black multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Under the hood of the Maserati GranCabrio is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 Nettuno engine that produces up to 542 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque in the most powerful version. An 8-speed automatic transmission is used to send power to the rear wheels.
Earlier, Mercedes-Benz admitted that it rushed with plans to "electrify" the car, and also Xiaomi showed for the global market a version of its first electric car.
