In early August, the Russian market saw significant changes in the pricing policy of two popular European car brands - Peugeot and Citroen. Price reductions affected several models at once, which attracted the attention of both motorists and industry experts.
The Citroen C5 Aircross crossover of the previous model year can now be purchased for 3,700,000 rubles, making it one of the most affordable offers in its segment. The Citroen C5X, featuring advanced technological solutions and stylish design, now costs from 4,300,000 rubles. The updated Peugeot 2008 2023 model year has fallen in price to 3,000,000 rubles, which is significantly lower than the average market cost of similar models. An even greater price reduction has affected the Peugeot 4008, which has become available for 3,900,000 rubles. The Peugeot 5008 Allure, which has decreased in price by 800,000 rubles and is now offered at a price of 4,200,000 rubles, attracts special attention.
Experts attribute such changes to several factors. First of all, it is a change in the market strategy of companies aimed at increasing competitiveness in an unstable economic situation. It is possible that the price reduction is due to the fact that companies are trying to support demand against the background of a decrease in the purchasing power of the population. It is also possible that Peugeot and Citroen are reacting to increased competition from Asian manufacturers, which are actively expanding their presence in the Russian market.
