Popular Japanese automakers Toyota, Lexus and Nissan, which had previously suspended their production and supply of components, have announced their future plans.
The management of Nissan, which is based in Japan, has announced that it is writing off its business in Russia for the next fiscal year, which will end in March 2023. This means that the Japanese brand's assembly plant in St. Petersburg will not be operational until at least March 2023, but it will not quit completely unless the company's management changes its decision.
Toyota and the Lexus brand, which it owns, have not announced anything yet, and their plant in St. Petersburg has been idle since March. According to experts, production of cars is unlikely to start anytime soon, but there is still a chance that the automaker will keep the plant in Russia.
