According to the newspaper Kommersant, the current conditions of sanctions pressure prevented the purchase of new cars for the needs of the traffic police. At the same time, the press service of the Interior Ministry assures that all divisions are provided with the necessary list of vehicles.

It is noted that previously the police bought for the needs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs cars Skoda, Hyundai and "Avtovaz". However, in 2022, the tender for the purchase was not announced, although initially it was planned to spend 4.5 billion rubles on the renewal of the car fleet.

According to Kommersant's sources, with sanctions and companies leaving Russia, the Interior Ministry may not have found a supplier for such a large batch.

For example, due to the lack of production of Lada Vesta cars which the Ministry of Internal Affairs used to buy, the Ministry cannot purchase 2.8 thousand cars.
