The bandits stormed the public institution, which is located in Zamfara state in northwestern Nigeria, during the night. The gunmen opened fire, possibly wounding some of the staff and took the schoolgirls.
For three days, the girls were searched for by the country's security services and police. At the same time, the authorities negotiated with the heads of local communities.
The abductees were found and released, PM News writes. It is not yet known whether the schoolgirls were ransomed or not.
Now they are being taken to Gusau, the capital of Zamfara. The girls will be there soon. It is not reported whether any of them were injured.
