US serves as mediator between Armenia and Azerbaijan

The American authorities have long urged countries to negotiate. At the same time, the US president is more sympathetic to the Armenian side.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeykhun Bayramov and Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan are preparing to meet with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on October 23, Kommersant reports citing the country's press service. The OSCE Minsk Group countries (Russia, the USA and France) will also participate in the meeting.

Thus, the United States wants to achieve a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict through negotiations. They insist on such a position from the very beginning, taking the side of Armenia. This was stated by US President Donald Trump in one of his last speeches. He also made it clear that he was ready to help Yerevan if necessary.
