According to Interfax-Tourism, Sochi hoteliers were forced to reduce the cost of booking housing in order to attract tourists after many Russians had gone to Abkhazia.
Experts said that prices for accommodation and food in Abkhazia are almost a third lower compared to the same indicators in Russian resorts. In addition, it was noted that accommodation in Adler and Sochi increased in price by one and a half to two times due to high demand.
According to the head of the Pink Elephant travel agency network, Aleksan Mkrtchyan, in Adler housing prices began to decrease two days after the opening of the border with Abkhazia. The expert also said that by the end of this year about 400 thousand Russian tourists are expected to visit Abkhazia.
