"We want to involve UNESCO in the reconstruction of the region. Specialists should visit Muslim and Christian facilities, but first you need to ensure the safety of mission representatives due to the threat of blasting unexploded ordnance on the sites of recent hostilities," said Anar Kerimov.
The Azerbaijani Minister of Culture noted the need to take into account the peculiarities of the climate of Nagorno-Karabakh. "Now the weather in mountain conditions is getting worse, in particular, in the lowlands. Our goal is to visit the UNESCO mission throughout the territory," said Anar Kerimov.
All questions about the visit to the Nagorno-Karabakh mission are still on the agenda. A group of specialists from the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan has already begun a primary study of the area in the regions of Fizuli, Jebrail, Zangelan and Khojavend. According to the results of preliminary monitoring, it turned out that 180 objects of cultural and religious heritage were almost completely destroyed.
The Prime Ministers of Russia and Armenia recently spoke by telephone about Moscow's participation in the restoration of Nagorno-Karabakh. Mikhail Mishustin has previously called for the involvement of UNESCO specialists in work in Nagorno-Karabakh, Vladimir Putin voiced the same idea.
