According to Rosstat, almost two thirds of young families in the country have enough money only for food and clothing. They cannot afford durable goods.

Only food and clothing: 64% of Russian families cannot afford durable goods

The Federal State Statistics Service conducted a survey, as a result of which it became known that 64% of young families cannot provide themselves with durable goods, since the entire budget is spent on the most necessary stuff: food and clothing.

In general, over the past year, the share of Russian families who can afford only clothes and food has increased to 49.9% from 49.4%, RBC reports. At the same time, for the same period of 2019, it was young households that were the most financially prosperous, and more than half (50.3%) of such households stated that they could purchase other goods for themselves.
