The largest food manufacturers in the US want to create artificial food substitutes that will hit the grocery store shelves.

Artificial products are increasingly appearing on the American market. For example, the Perfect Day company offers customers to purchase milk obtained from mushrooms, but the taste is as reminiscent of cow's as possible.

Also, start-ups TurtleTree and Better Milk are producing artificial milk: they grow milk-producing cells in laboratories.

This approach will make it possible to reduce the pace of development of animal husbandry in the world. The bottom line is that farms where animals are raised produce 16.5% of greenhouse gases from all global emissions.

It is noted that animals can also be carriers of viruses, in particular bird or swine flu.
