"The Armenian community and the diaspora are deeply concerned about the situation around civilians and soldiers who are held captive in Azerbaijan. If the President of Russia provides assistance, then this will resolve the extremely painful issue - the return of prisoners of war, civilians and bodies of those killed in armed clashes," - said in a letter that Armen Sargsyan sent to Vladimir Putin.
The Armenian President previously traveled to Moscow to meet with the Armenian diaspora. The politician called one of the ways to overcome the crisis: early elections and the formation of a government of national unity.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan previously noted that the Russian President set out his vision for resolving the crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Russian leader insisted on the transfer of five regions to Azerbaijan, as well as on the deployment of peacekeepers along the actual line of contact.
