"DNV GL may be sanctioned. Against this background, we decided to stop participating in the construction of Nord Stream 2 due to the threat of falling under PEESA," the representative of the Norwegian company said.
DNV GL specialists, as part of the construction of the Russian gas pipeline, monitored the testing and preparation of equipment used in ships for laying pipes along the seabed. In addition, at the end of the work, a company from Norway issued a certificate of conformity.
Nord Stream 2 AG operator did not comment on the information about the exit of the Norwegian enterprise from the project. "The governments of their countries, as well as the European Commission, must protect European companies from US sanctions," Nord Stream 2 AG replied.
Oliver Hermes, chairman of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy (OAOEV), previously noted that US sanctions against Nord Stream 2 are a disrespect for European sovereignty.
