Mike Pompeo, head of the US State Department, during a speech at the Republican Party Congress announced that the States will continue to develop short- and medium-range missiles.
We remind that the United States withdrew from the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles in August last year.
At the congress, Pompeo called this treaty harmful.
The head of the diplomatic department also criticized China. He accused the PRC authorities of not taking measures at the very beginning of the spread of coronavirus. However, President Donald Trump, Pompeo continued, firmly defends the country's interests in relations with China.
Pompeo also said that today the country is better protected than before Trump. As an example, he cited the destruction of terrorists in Syria and the start of a dialogue with North Korea.
