The Federation Council at the first plenary meeting of the autumn session will consider the creation of an additional post - another first vice-speaker.
This was reported by TASS with reference to a source in the Federal Parliament’s upper house.
It is assumed that one of the first deputy chairmen will be Andrei Turchak, Secretary of the General Council of “United Russia” Party.
Andrei Yatskin is considered as the second candidate - on September 21, he was appointed senator from the Rostov region. Prior to this, he worked for 16 years as plenipotentiary of the Government of the Russian Federation in the Federation Council.
Thus, these two high-ranking people will become deputies of Valentina Matvienko.
Today, the first vice-speaker of the Federation Council is Nikolai Fedorov. He represents Chuvashia.
