As reported by RIA News, the President intends to be vaccinated as early as tomorrow, March 23. "Vaccination should be absolutely voluntary. It is a personal choice of every person, and I would like to be vaccinated tomorrow," said Vladimir Putin during a meeting on the vaccination against coronavirus.
The President touched upon the issue of vaccine quality. According to him, no foreign drug against COVID-19 shows the same degree of protection as the Russian vaccines.
"No side effects of domestic vaccines against coronavirus have been detected. This quality has been achieved despite numerous tall tales aimed at deliberately discrediting Russian vaccines," Vladimir Putin added.
The Head of State noted that to date, 6.3 million people in Russia have received the first component of the vaccine. Both components of the vaccine have been already received by 4.3 million citizens, reminded Vladimir Putin.
Last week European Commissioner Thierry Breton stated that Europe does not need the Sputnik V vaccine because four vaccines have already been approved for use there. They would be enough to build collective immunity, the Commissioner added.
"We are not imposing anything on anyone, but then there is the question of whose interests they are supporting," Vladimir Putin responded to the statement.
