"There was a discussion in the UN Security Council that NATO countries put the blame on Moscow for not implementing the Minsk agreements and blocking a solution to the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Thus, Kiev and Brussels are trying to bring down relations between Russia and Europe," Konstantin Kosachev wrote on his Facebook page.
The senator noted that the US "continues to dominate", while in Ukraine they believe that it is Kiev that dominates the situation and the Russians. "Ukrainians naively believe that it is not them who are being divided and that the division is between the EU and Russia, not in the south-east, which is already lost," Konstantin Kosachev added.
He also recalled the words of the head of the Munich conference, Wolfgang Ischinger, who said: "Ukraine has lost Crimea and Donbass, Russia has lost Ukraine, Europe has lost Russia, and the world has lost stability. Konstantin Kosachev emphasized that the head of the Munich conference "did not mention the USA".
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Kiev had lost a chance to establish peace in Donbas. She recalled that peace in the east of Ukraine should have been established back in 2015.
