"We are experiencing a major turning point not only within the state but in the Belarusian society as well. There haven't been many such periods in our history and it can be compared to the collapse of the Soviet Union and the consequences of this event," said Alexander Lukashenko during his report at the All-Belarus People's Assembly.
The Belarusian leader noted that his country was subjected to strong pressure from the outside. "We have made an attempt not even to organize a colour revolution, but a blitzkrieg-type insurgency. Our opponents want Belarus to leave the Union State, as well as the CSTO," added Alexander Lukashenko.
The press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, earlier reported that a new meeting between Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin is currently being prepared. A date for the bilateral event has not yet been announced.
