According to the official website of the Mayor of Moscow, the Moscow Water Festival will be held in the capital for the first time on September 19. As part of the sports holiday, sapperfers will perform on the Water Drainage Channel.
Sapsurfing is a water sport in which a surfboard and paddle are used. In Moscow, they decided to hold an event of such a format for the first time, and everyone can participate in it. The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Bolotnaya Embankment. If the event is in demand, it will be held regularly.
As part of the Moscow Water Festival, sapsurfers in bright costumes will pass 4.5 km along the Water Drainage Chanal in the historical center of Moscow. Spectators will see tricks on hydrocycles, water bikes and flyboards.
The festival will be attended by about 500 athletes, as well as about 20 clubs from Moscow and other regions of Russia. The brightest participants of the parade will be awarded with prizes in the nomination "Best Costume."
In Moscow, about 1 million people are fond of water sports.
