The $1.9 million Shelby Supercars (SCC) Tuatara set a new world speed record, having accelerated to 508 km/h. The previous record holder was a Bugatti Chiron, which reached a speed of 490.48 km/h.
As SCC representatives emphasized, the new record was recorded in full compliance with all Guinness standards, but has not yet been officially certified. This is expected to happen in the near future.
Oliver Webb, who was driving the car, also shared his impressions of setting the record. According to him, it turned out to be very difficult to drive Tuatara not because of the car itself, but because of the specific and dangerous track on which the record was set.
