Production of new cars in Russia decreased by 47.4% in four months

In Russia, the production of cars in the first four months decreased by 47.4%. 264 thousand passenger cars were produced.

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, 19.9 thousand cars were produced in April, which is 85.4% less than last year and 51.3% less than in March.

Experts noted that the sharp decline in car production was due to disruptions in the supply of components. Due to a shortage of components, almost all Russian auto plants had to work with interruptions or suspend production, Izvestia reported.

Igor Morzharetto, a partner of the analytical agency "Autostat", stressed that Russia is highly integrated into the global automotive industry, it is one of the most cooperative sectors of the world economy.
