Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said that Rome will do everything possible for Ukraine to become a member of the EU, but not before Kiev carries out the necessary reforms.
In this context, the diplomat stressed the fight against corruption separately, the Il Messaggero newspaper reported. Additionally, Tajani once again encouraged Ukraine to join NATO. However, according to the foreign minister, in this case, the transition should be gradual. And it will start with the NATO-Ukraine Council. But this can be counted on only after the end of the confrontation with Russia.
Tajani also said that he supports only a "fair peace", according to which Ukraine must restore its borders by February 24, 2022. In addition, according to the minister, the West does not consider Crimea to be part of Russia.
