The United States is considering a complete withdrawal of troops from Syria. A final decision has not yet been made, but sources in the Defense Ministry and State Department said the White House was not interested in extending the mission.
According to Foreign Policy magazine, the withdrawal will be a "gift" for the Islamic State (recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia). Despite the significant weakening, the group is "poised for a resurgence" in Syria if given the opportunity.
There are 900 military personnel on the ground in Syria and the U.S. is playing an important role in containing terrorists in the northeast, working alongside the Syrian Democratic Forces.
Recall that the US fighter jet fleet is not ready for great power warfare. Ukraine will not receive a single dollar from Washington.
