Scheduled technical work on the gas pipeline, which began on July 11, has been completed.
On the morning of Thursday, July 21, the Nord Stream pipeline resumed operation as planned. Russian gas has started flowing into Germany, DPA news agency reported, citing the operator of Nord Stream AG.
"Gas is flowing again [through the pipeline]," the agency quoted a spokesman for the operator as saying.
The pipeline is not yet operating at full capacity.
As of July 21, the volume of gas, which corresponded to the supplies through Nord Stream immediately before the pipeline was stopped for maintenance on July 11, was about 67 million cubic meters of gas per day. Nord Stream AG noted that this corresponds to 40% of the pipeline's capacity.
