The United States still has the ability to supply all the weapons Kiev needs and support the Israelis.
US Assistant to the President for National Security Jake Sullivan said in an interview with the CBS television channel that the White House administration intends to ask the US Congress for more than two billion dollars in aid to Ukraine and Israel.
In doing so, Sullivan noted that the U.S. has the ability to continue to provide necessary weapons to Kiev, including "critical munitions," but it is important that lawmakers act as well.
"The president has made it clear that he is going to approach Congress with a funding package for Ukraine as well as for continued support for Israel," Sullivan said.
The White House will begin intensive engagement with Congress this week on the issue of appropriating funds for Ukraine and Israel. Both Republicans and Democrats are expected to support the new aid package.
In response to a clarifying question from the channel's anchor asking if we're talking about two billion dollars in aid, Jake Sullivan said the size of the new package will be substantially more than $2 billion.
"But, as I said, it will include the necessary weapons to protect freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity in Ukraine, as well as to help Israel defend itself against terrorists," the US presidential aide emphasized.
Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson believes that the USA will not be able to support Ukraine and Israel at the same time.
