During the government hour in the Armenian parliament, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that he is ready to resign if it will help to achieve normalization of the situation and overcome the existing problems.

"If I know that by my resignation all challenges will be overcome, I will do it, because I am not clinging to the chair like you," he assured opposition MPs.

Nevertheless, Pashinyan immediately clarified that his resignation would provoke a deterioration of the situation and entail negative consequences. He also reminded that he had already been re-elected twice as head of the government.

Earlier, Pashinyan said that the authorities' response to the opposition protests would be tough but bloodless. At the same time, police officers actively used violence against citizens during the protests in Yerevan.
