Qatar can assume financial support for this project.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian leader Vladimir Putin have reached an agreement on food supplies to poor countries. Erdogan told a joint press conference in Sochi that grain from Russia would be processed into flour in Turkey and then sent to poor nations in Africa.
"We discussed with Mr. Putin the initiative to send grain to poor countries. We agree to carry out such work. We agreed that we can send Russian grain processed into flour to poor countries," the Turkish leader said.
Qatar, Erdogan said, will also participate in the project and provide financial support. He specified that now we are talking about six African countries where such assistance is needed.
Turkey and the UN were preparing Russia's proposals on the grain deal.
