Over 600 vehicles are in special car parks.
About a thousand tractor-trailers are waiting to cross the border between Russia and Georgia. The vehicles have piled up at the Verkhny Lars checkpoint in North Ossetia. This statement was made by the Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Irbek Tomayev.
"Customs and border services are working in normal mode (...) 991 lorries have piled up on the republic's roads, of which 628 are in special car parks," Tomayev said.
He also noted that about 15.6 thousand vehicles passed through the Russian-Georgian border last week.
According to the North Ossetian Traffic Management Centre, at the moment in the electronic queue for passage through the checkpoint "Verkhny Lars" recorded 1,588 cars.
Recall, the cargo with explosives, which was travelling from Ukraine to Voronezh, detained in Georgia. The activist Peradze was arrested for defacing an icon with Stalin.
