The Russian tourism market is attracting the attention of Hong Kong tour operators, who are actively exploring and developing this focus.
This was reported by Anatoly Kargapolov, Russian Consul General in Hong Kong and Macau, in a conversation with TASS. The official noted that Hong Kong tour operators highly appreciate the potential of the Russian tourist market, especially interested in trips to Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Far East and the northern regions of the country.
In addition, the Consul General emphasized that for Russians Hong Kong is of interest with many attractions, such as Victoria Peak, Star Alley, Big Buddha statue, museums, restaurants and shopping centers.
Noting the good international legal relations between Russia and Hong Kong, Kargapolov mentioned the visa-free regime in place since 2009 for travel to this part of the PRC, which opens the way for both tourists and business travelers. Hong Kong, he said, is a financial center, a major seaport and an aviation hub, which makes it an attractive place for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Kargapolov also emphasized Hong Kong's unique position as a megacity with the principle of "one country - two systems", which facilitates the expansion of contacts with the markets of Southeast Asia and China.
It is important to note that Russian airline Aeroflot has restored regular passenger flights to Hong Kong after a more than three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Flights will now operate three times a week, providing convenience for travelers from Moscow to Hong Kong and back.
