Against the background of the unstable situation in the world and the actions in Ukraine, the flow of Russian tourists to France has decreased. This was reported to RIA Novosti by Alexandra Borkio-Fontimp, president of the Tourism Committee of the French Côte d'Azur.

In 2022, the tourist economy suffers a loss of more than 50 million euros.

"The current crisis in Ukraine and the resulting loss of Russian clientele will affect tourism on the Côte d'Azur: this will mean a loss of income of more than €50 million in 2022," said Borchio-Fontimp.

The head of the committee noted that in 2019, Russia was in ninth place for the number of foreign tourists on the Côte d'Azur. In numbers, this is 4.5% of the total, and 7% of the revenue of the Côte d'Azur, which converts to 300 million euros.

However, even recently France itself introduced tourist quotas and passes for tourists, but probably such a move did not please the local economy.
