The activity of tourists has increased due to the World Youth Festival, as deputy mayor Svetlana Kolesnikova wrote in her Telegram channel.
Since the beginning of the year 1 million 210 thousand people have visited the resort. The occupancy rate of Sochi hotels from March 8 to 10 averaged over 70%.
For May holidays there is also an increase in bookings - at the moment 55% of the resort's room stock is already booked. For the first 10 days of March Sochi received about 130 thousand visitors, which is 15% more than in the same period of the previous year. The World Youth Festival also contributed to the increase in tourist traffic. Many participants of the festival after its end decided to extend their vacation, staying in Sochi for the holidays.
