Aeroflot has canceled almost half of its large-scale program of direct flights from Russian cities on the Black Sea coast, which it had planned for the winter season.
According to Izvestia, the company planned to operate direct flights on 22 routes to Sochi, Simferopol and Krasnodar from 13 Russian cities in winter. However, flights on 10 routes from Simferopol and Krasnodar were completely canceled after the New Year until the end of March. Aeroflot was the only carrier on eight flights in winter. There are no direct flights to these destinations after the New Year holidays.
Thus, from November 8 to the end of 2021, the company canceled more than 640 flights, taking into account the route between Sochi and Simferopol. More than 530 flights were canceled the following year. In total, Aeroflot removed about 1.2 thousand flights in the winter schedule.
