More than half a million people signed an online petition launched in Argentina asking «France, Stop Crying» after losing in the World Cup final.
A rivalry between Argentina and France has been brewing. After a memorable and dramatic final a week ago, fans of both teams decided to extend the fun through online petitions. The French were the first to petition for a replay, arguing that the referee, Pole Szymon Marciniak, was wrong, especially in his decision to award a penalty kick for a foul by Ousmane Dembele in the first half.
But the Argentines responded with a petition, signed by more than 500,000 people, demanding that the Tricolors stop crying after losing in the World Cup final. "After our victory, the French won't stop crying and complaining and won't acknowledge that Argentina is the world champion," said Valentin Gomez, initiator of the "France, Stop Crying" petition, which gathered 570,768 signatures on Change.org
