Norwegian chess player Magnus Carlsen defeated Russian Ian Nepomniachtchi in game 11 of the match for the chess crown.
The victory allowed the Norwegian to defend his title of world champion in classical chess ahead of schedule. The score was 7.5-3.5 in Carlsen's favor with three games left.
The Russian played with white pieces in the eleventh game, and the game ended with Carlsen winning on move 49.
Carlsen has held the world title since 2013. This year the match took place in Dubai as part of the Dubai Expo.
Earlier, another Russian, Sergei Karjakin, tried to snatch the chess crown from the Norwegian, but his attempt failed.
