IKEA announced the sale of factories in Russia and the reduction of some employees

IKEA will sell three factories and reduce the number of employees in production.

IKEA announced that it is scaling down its business in Russia due to the inability to resume sales in the near future. The company told RIA Novosti news agency about it.

A source in IKEA said that due to the sanctions, logistics, and therefore all business processes, have become seriously complicated.

"We do not see the possibility of resuming sales in the near future. Therefore, Inter IKEA Group and Ingka decided to reduce the scale of business in Russia," the company said.

Factories in the Kirov, Novgorod and Leningrad regions will be sold, the number of employees will have to be reduced.

It is reported that the Mega shopping center will continue to work, and the goods left in warehouses will be sold.

Recall that IKEA announced the temporary closure of stores in Russia on March 4 and for an indefinite period.
