Microsoft has notified Russian users that from March 20 it is closing their access to its cloud services, as required by the 13th package of EU anti-Russian sanctions. This is reported by RBC with reference to sources in the Russian IT sphere.
The sources said that Microsoft has received notifications about the closure of its services for Russian customers from March 20 and until further orders of the EU regulators. After this date, Russian users may lose access to these services and the data stored there.
This information was confirmed to RBC by Softline. They added that restrictions for Russians may also be introduced by Amazon and Google.
Earlier Microsoft introduced in Windows 11 the function of removing pre-installed programs. Also, a court in Russia fined Amazon more than 200 million rubles.
