Coronavirus drugs such as Avifavir, Areplivir, Coronavir and Favipiravir have disappeared from the shelves of Russian pharmacies. About it writes RBC. The basis of all these drugs is favipiravir.

Note that this drug was developed in the early 2000s in Japan as a remedy against influenza. And in 2020, a Chinese company received authorization to use this drug as a remedy for coronavirus. In the same year, Russia registered its brand name Avifavir. Five pharmacological companies are engaged in its supply.

One of them reported that the necessary stock of this drug is available and it can be put on sale at any time. Another company noted that the coronavirus is now seasonal and there is no urgent need for the production of this drug. The Ministry of Health noted that all production is now working in normal mode due to the improvement of the epidemiological situation.

Recall, the anti-viral measures introduced around the world led to the disappearance of the once popular strain of influenza type B "Jagamata".
